I knew about Aliens vs Cowboys since it's had a lot of nerd media coverage but this one took me by surprise. I so badly wanna see both.


Also, I have to say that it's refreshing to see an Asian male play a romantic lead in an American film. It happens so very very rarely, especially with a non-Asian woman playing his opposite. (I think there was one with Hayden Panitierre a while back that had a limited release). In fact, I remember reading that Jet Li had a kissing scene with Aaliyah in Romeo Must Die but they cut it out due to the negative reaction from test groups.

Since Charles didn't specify "I'll take your Aliens and raise you some NINJAS!", the cowgirl and cowboys in The Way of the Warrior took me by surprise. Until they showed up I didn't realize this one is a Western too.


I vaguely remember reading an article in the paper, a few weeks after Romeo Must Die came out, about teen girls and especially black teen girls in the audience sometimes yelling about how hot Jet Li is (sorry, I can't find the article now). Methinks the group testers didn't find the right groups to test.

Not a new movie (it's from 1984) but I defintely want to see this:



It looks somehow like a mixture of Scott Pilgrim, The Secret Of Nimh, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Also, music by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and Eart Wind & Fire.
