Only just found out that Mike Allred would be doing a signing/sketching session in the Forbidden Zone shop this tuesday in Brussels,
so I've phoned up and booked a ticket.
I'm gonna take some Madman/Atomics stuff for him to sign, and I was also thinking taking some X-Force/X Statix issues (obviously not all of them) ;-)

There also have a limited drawing by Allred especially made for the occasion (with french fries).

Anyway I doubt there are many belgian people on the board who would want to come, so I guess I'd just wanted to share my excitement with y'all :D

That's awesome. Don't forget to bring some iZombie ;-). You might enjoy a peek at the Allred residence/home studio --definitely one of the coolest pads I've ever seen.

Waw that's a very cool article !
For tomorrow I decided not to take too much stuff, so I'll only bring the "Madman" Gargantua and the first X-Statix issue for him to sign.
I guess I'll buy Izombie at the store tomorrow :-)

OK guys, got back one hour ago and it was a bit of a disapointment.
Got to meet Mike and Laura Allred, but Mike had a tendonitis and couldn't do sketches, only sign stuff.
There wasn't many people when I arrived and had I had known that, I would have brought more comics for them to sign.
Anyway we had a nice chat, I thought he looked a bit like a rock star, quite handsome with nice side whiskers and great blue eyes :D

The store I had never been to, and it was the biggest mess I had ever seen, it was practically impossible to find anything whatsoever.
The staff was friendly enough, and they said they were mainly doing mail orders. I couldn't even find Izombie.
Oh and he had a lot of original art which for some reason he was selling at half the announced price (go figure),
but even at 350 euros, it's still too much for me :-)

Ouch! I once had tendonitis in my foot and it was painful and awkward, having tendonitis in your hand when you want to sketch must be even worse.

If it helps you feel less disappointed, look at your bringing fewer comics as bringing less work for Mike's aching hand tendon to do.

Yeah that's right, he really seemed to suffer. The explanation given was that in order to have 15 days vacation in Europe, he had to work like crazy to meet all his deadlines, hence the tendonitis :s
